Runway integrations, Claude Code fixes and a Gemini migration deadline
Runway has introduced plugins for three coding agents, Anthropic has released Claude Code 2.1.317, and Google has deprecated Gemini 2.5 Pro and Flash ahead of December API redirects. These changes affect developers building creative workflows and other AI applications; they are distinct from the service recoveries in today’s incident report.
Coverage runs from 31 October at 11:59 to 3 November at 12:02 Europe/Istanbul (UTC+3). Runway’s announcement and Google’s deprecation notice are dated 2 November; the Claude Code release was published on 3 November. A future effective date is not presented as a change already completed.
Runway brings developer plugins to Claude Code, Codex and Cursor
Runway’s 2 November announcement introduces Runway Dev plugins for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. The plugins combine its developer MCP connection with skills for API integration. They let an agent inspect projects, available models, prices, limits and credits, then help build or debug integrations using Runway’s developer platform. Original Runway announcement.
Runway describes support for its SDKs, Model Router, Characters, Recipes and published Workflow endpoints. First use connects a Runway Dev account through browser sign-in. Availability and credits still depend on that account; the announcement does not promise unrestricted access to every model or free media generations.
Developer access and media generation are separate
Runway’s technical guide distinguishes Dev MCP, for configuration and integration work, from Media MCP, for generation inside chat. It also says an application making live generation calls still needs an API key in its project environment. Signing a coding-agent plugin into an account does not remove that application requirement. Runway coding-agent setup guide.
Practical impact: teams can ask a supported coding agent to work with the current Runway project configuration while developing video or other media workflows. MUVO has not installed these plugins or submitted paid generations to test them.
Claude Code 2.1.317 tightens permission handling and fixes recovery issues
Anthropic published Claude Code 2.1.317 at 04:25 Istanbul on 3 November. The release includes warnings when a newly scheduled cloud task receives connectors the user did not request, and confirmation before a web or shell action sends the account email address over the network. Official versioned release notes.
It adds onFailure: "block" for SDK callbacks so a failed callback blocks the action. It also fixes desktop MCP disconnections after the first turn and lost recent turns after a self-hosted runner restarts while awaiting plan approval. Other fixes preserve slow authentication refreshes and make claude -p return an error when transcript or settings writes fail because of disk or quota problems.
Availability: this is a published software release, not a new Claude model. Cloud scheduling, desktop connections and SDK behavior apply only where those features are supported by the installation and account. The notes do not establish that every user has already updated. Analysis: developers relying on unattended tasks should review these permission and recovery changes before their next run; the release is not a guarantee that all failure modes are eliminated.
Gemini 2.5 Pro and Flash: API redirects are scheduled for 1 December
Google’s 2 November changelog deprecates gemini-2.5-pro and gemini-2.5-flash and removes them from the Google AI Studio model selector. It schedules API redirects for 1 December 2026, with requests billed at the destination model’s rates. Official Gemini API changelog.
| Existing model ID | Scheduled destination | Effective date |
|---|---|---|
gemini-2.5-pro |
gemini-3.8-flash |
1 December 2026 |
gemini-2.5-flash |
gemini-3.5-flash-lite |
1 December 2026 |
Google recommends migrating explicit model strings before that date. This is an AI Studio and Gemini API change; the notice does not establish the same transition for every consumer Gemini feature or third-party integration.
Test request compatibility before changing the model string
The migration documentation identifies changes involving function calling, thought-signature validation, thinking controls and unsupported request parameters. In particular, thinking_level replaces thinking_budget; developers should review sampling parameters and prefilled model turns rather than assume a model-ID substitution is sufficient. Gemini 3.8 Flash migration guide, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite migration guidance.
Practical impact: applications should test their actual requests and review destination pricing before the automatic transition. No exact switchover hour or region-by-region schedule is supplied in the dated notice. MUVO has not benchmarked either replacement as part of this report.

The broader music, speech, video and remix watchlist was checked. Previously reported Suno, Mureka, Pika, ElevenLabs and other releases were deduplicated; an older announcement reappearing in search results was not treated as new.
