AI news: Suno collaboration, ElevenLabs soundtracks and Google Search updates — 16 October 2026

Suno adds shared workspaces, ElevenLabs launches Instant Soundtracks and Google changes AI Search links. Plus Claude Code fixes, Rosalind access and other verified updates.

Publisher disclosure: MUVO offers competing music, remix, and video tools. This report summarizes public sources and provider documentation; it is not an independent product test or a claim that MUVO is free of similar issues. Read our reporting method.

Key product updates at a glance

The leading creative-tool changes are Suno’s collaboration features and ElevenLabs’ Instant Soundtracks. Google’s AI Search changes matter to publishers, while the latest Claude Code release addresses worktree and error-reporting behavior.

The research window is 13 October at 12:14 through 16 October at 12:00 Europe/Istanbul (UTC+3), including overlap to catch missed announcements. Dates below are source dates; a 16 October edition does not mean every product launched today. Vendor claims are attributed, and we have not run paid product tests.

Product What changed Availability stated by the source
Suno Shared song workspaces and custom models Web; plan-specific
ElevenLabs Music plus synchronized effects for video Creative interfaces and Studio API
Google AI Search More visible links and publisher attribution Rollouts mixed with tests
Claude Code Versions 2.1.300 and 2.1.301 Published releases

Suno: shared workspaces and custom-model collaboration

Suno’s 15 October release adds invite-only shared song workspaces for Pro and Premier subscribers. Premier also receives shareable custom models and twice the supported inputs for those models. Official collaboration release.

The update is tagged for the web product. For collaborators, the practical change is a shared song library and, on the higher plan, access to shared custom models. The notice does not establish equivalent native-app or API access, a regional rollout list or an absolute new input limit. Check the plan requirement before assuming an invited collaborator has every creation capability.

ElevenLabs: Instant Soundtracks adds editable effects to video

ElevenLabs launched Instant Soundtracks on 15 October, combining generated music with effects aligned to uploaded footage. In the Music Video Editor, effects remain separate layers; creators can adjust timing, change music and refine the result. Existing video audio can guide the new score. Original announcement.

The company lists immediate access through ElevenCreative’s Music Video Editor, Creative Engine, ElevenMusic and the ElevenCreative Studio API. The API adds add_sfx, separate_tracks and use_audio_as_reference; separate-track output is a ZIP containing music and effects. The stated request limit is 10 videos, 200 MB combined and 10 minutes combined.

The announcement does not supply a full pricing, plan or region matrix. Claims about improved timing and mood changes are ElevenLabs’ claims, not MUVO benchmarks. Separate outputs may help downstream mixing; they do not establish compatibility with every editor or permission to reuse source audio.

AI Mode and AI Overviews make sources more visible

Google’s 15 October Search update describes more inline links and more prominent related articles. Timely-article carousels are expanding to additional languages and regions. A dedicated official-website section and clickable creator/publisher names on video results are tests, rather than universally available features. Google Search announcement.

For publishers and video creators, the practical development is how readers can reach source pages and creator profiles. The announcement does not promise a particular site more traffic, faster indexing or inclusion in AI answers.

Universal Cart begins in the US

Google also announced a Universal Cart rollout in US Search and the Gemini app on 15 October. It brings cross-merchant shopping, price/restock alerts and checkout options into the experience. Merchants remain the sellers of record and handle customer support. Original shopping announcement.

This is a US rollout; the source does not establish availability in Türkiye or worldwide.

Claude Code: 2.1.301 fixes worktree deletion and clearer tool errors

Claude Code 2.1.301, published 15 October, addresses a case where quitting could remove a worktree created by a WorktreeCreate hook without asking, even when it might contain unpushed commits. Its notes also distinguish Grep/Glob failures from an empty result and describe an authentication-refresh fix. These are vendor-reported fixes, not a MUVO reproduction or evidence of a platform outage. Version 2.1.301.

The preceding 2.1.300 release, published 14 October, improves distinctions between policy and network failures and addresses cloud writes that could be reported as successful when they failed. Version 2.1.300.

Developers using worktrees or automated tool results should review these specific release notes when choosing an upgrade. The earlier release is included from the overlapping research window; neither version is presented as a new model.

OpenAI: Rosalind Academic Plan opens a limited lab-access programme

OpenAI announced the Rosalind Academic Plan on 15 October for eligible US university research labs. The offer covers up to 30 ChatGPT Business Standard seats at no cost for up to 12 months, subject to programme eligibility and GPT-Rosalind trusted-access approval. Official programme announcement.

Principal investigators or lab leads apply. Labs with an existing university Enterprise agreement are directed to that route. API usage is excluded. This is a targeted access programme, not a general free plan, a global rollout or a new model launch on the edition date.

Anthropic: embedded evaluators are a new scrutiny model

Anthropic’s 15 October update describes six METR staff working with broad access to its internal environment for independent evaluation. Access has exceptions, including customer information, privileged material and model-architecture details. METR may publish risk assessments; the arrangement includes narrowly defined redactions, which METR can discuss. Anthropic’s evaluator update.

This is a consequential evaluation arrangement, not a safety certification or a completed assessment. Our analysis: the useful next evidence will be what evaluators publish and what limitations they disclose. Access commitments alone do not demonstrate a model’s performance or safety.

Other verified product updates

Adobe and NVIDIA, 15 October: Their expanded collaboration describes GPU improvements for Photoshop, Premiere, Substance 3D and Frame.io workflows. Performance claims are vendor claims; the announcement does not establish identical gains across hardware and plans. Brand Concierge integration with Nemotron is described as coming later this year, and ongoing Firefly Foundry work is not a newly released Firefly model. Adobe announcement.

Microsoft Copilot for legal, 15 October: Microsoft says its new legal capabilities, including more than 20 skills, are generally available to Copilot customers worldwide. Word presents proposed edits for user approval; plugins begin rolling out through a registry. A defined-term navigation feature is a preview planned for later October. The post does not establish entitlement for every free consumer account. Microsoft’s original product post.

Facebook Your algorithm, 13 October: Meta is rolling out controls that use written interests and feedback to shape Feed and Reels recommendations. Access is through the three-dot menu; Meta attributes the natural-language interpretation to large language models. The announcement does not give a complete region or account rollout schedule. This is a recommendation-control feature, not a new content-generation model. Meta announcement.
