Key product updates at a glance

Pika launched H3 Flex through its API, Suno added Studio editing controls, and OpenAI increased selected Work and Codex allowances. Mureka’s MP4 audio support, coding-tool releases and Google learning updates add practical changes for creators and developers.

This edition covers 27 October at 12:08 through 30 October at 12:06 Europe/Istanbul (UTC+3). Most announcements below are dated 29 October; other dates are stated. Availability and performance claims are attributed to the providers, not MUVO testing.

Pika H3 Flex separates generation, finishing and audio mixing

Pika’s 29 October release post introduces H3 Flex, post-trained from MiniMax H3, through the Pika API Club. It supports up to 12 image, video and audio references and produces clips with synchronized stereo audio. The API can return five separate stems: dialogue, score, sound effects, Foley and ambience. Original launch.

Native output is 480p or 768p; finishing at 1080p, 2K or 4K uses Pika’s upsampler. The announced open-weight release covers generator adapters and inference code, subject to its license. Upsampling, stem separation, prompt enhancement and accelerated serving remain hosted features. Pika says the consumer creation product will receive Flex on 2 November, so API availability should not be mistaken for an already completed consumer rollout.

For editors, the useful distinction is the ability to adjust dialogue and music separately after generation. Pika’s seven-second figure measures transformer computation for a controlled 15-second 768p example, not total API completion time or performance on local hardware. Technical account and benchmark scope.

Suno Studio adds clip settings and more precise timing controls

Suno’s 29 October Studio update moves volume, pitch, loop, reverse and time-stretch controls into a Clip Settings sidebar. Lyrics, style tags and stem separation move to a separate Clip Info panel. It also adds pitch adjustment in semitones and cents, track hiding and grid-display controls. Dated Studio release.

An auto-stretch setting controls how library and uploaded clips align to project timing. Suno says clips with an unsteady beat and groups of stems uploaded together retain their original timing; generated clips are unaffected by this setting. That matters when aligning a live recording or keeping related stems synchronized. The post announces a Studio workflow update, without announcing broader plan eligibility.

Mureka adds MP4 audio input. Its 29 October changelog says an uploaded MP4 can supply audio for Remix or Audio Reference. This reduces the need for a separate extraction step; it is not an announcement of general video editing. The entry does not specify plan or regional eligibility. Mureka changelog.

OpenAI changes Work allowances and offers conditional API credits

Pro allowance changes differ by tier

From 29 October, Pro 100 and Pro 500 include twice their previous Work and Codex allowances. OpenAI canceled the announced Pro 200 reduction: users already receiving the higher allowance keep it, while those on the lower allowance receive a doubling to reach the same limit. The notice also announces increased Business Premium usage, without specifying its multiplier in that entry. ChatGPT release notes.

API credits require activation and a linked organization

A separate 28 October announcement adds promotional API credits for eligible paid Pro and Business subscriptions. The benefit page requires at least seven days of paid eligibility and activation into one API organization. Pro 100/200/500 correspond to full-period grants of $100/$200/$500. Business Standard and Premium seats contribute $20 and $100 respectively, pooled up to $500 per monthly billing period. Eligibility and benefit details.

Initial grants are prorated; unused credits expire with the applicable billing cycle. Cohort and country eligibility still apply. Ownership on both sides is required for linking, and a ChatGPT seat does not automatically grant API access. These credits do not increase signed-in Codex limits or cover Codex usage through API keys. Developers should inspect the displayed grant and receiving organization before budgeting around the offer.

GPT-6 Luna update targets shorter, less agreeable responses

OpenAI’s addendum dated 29 October describes an update to GPT-6 Luna, which it says first reached ChatGPT on 7 October. The stated behavior changes are greater concision and less overly agreeable language. These are provider claims, not a comparative test by MUVO. The addendum does not establish identical availability across every plan, region or API surface. Live model addendum.

Claude Code and Codex release workflow and permission fixes

Claude Code 2.1.314

Anthropic released Claude Code 2.1.314 on 30 October at 04:06 Istanbul. A new permissions.blockWritesOutsideWorkingDirectories setting makes Write, Edit and NotebookEdit refuse writes outside working directories in every permission mode. This is a control for those tools; it is not a claim that every possible shell action is constrained by that setting. Official release.

The release also lists fixes involving sandbox settings on worktree resume, excluded settings still applying, and managed-policy refresh. Idle compaction is added for qualifying long sessions in VS Code and the Claude Desktop Code tab. These are documented software changes, not evidence of an exploited customer incident or a Claude consumer-model launch.

Codex CLI 0.166.0

OpenAI’s stable CLI release arrived on 29 October at 22:47 Istanbul. It adds transcript selection/search controls, codex queue --resume, clearer safety-block explanations and codex doctor --network-only. Fixes address preserved approvals and permissions on resume or fork, attachments, recovery and premature compaction. Official CLI release.

The practical benefit is better continuity and diagnosis for long coding sessions. A CLI version does not by itself establish a matching desktop-app update or new model entitlement.

Google adds textbook sources and reports qualified tutoring results

Google’s 29 October Gemini Notebook announcement adds hundreds of textbooks at no charge, sourced from providers including OpenStax, Open Textbook Library and S. Chand. Users can add them as sources, ask questions with citations and create study aids. The US and India references describe content providers; they do not establish a country restriction on every user. Textbook announcement.

A separate Google education report describes a UK tutoring study with a substantial human-review condition. In the ten-week study with roughly 1,100 students aged 12–15, human experts reviewed every AI response before students saw it. Google reports comparable in-platform quiz outcomes to human tutoring, but no improvement on the standardized STAR assessment. Original study summary, 29 October.

Analysis: those results concern a supervised implementation and specific measures. They cannot establish equivalent results for unsupervised consumer chatbot use.

Grok Bot adds shopping and subscription-management controls

Grok Bot 0.78.1, dated 27 October and including 0.78.0, adds product cards, order tracking and subscription templates. Its changelog describes confirmation before subscription changes and user approval for an order. Team Bot managers also gain a way to supply logins through the Bot’s own Vault. Official Grok Bot changelog.

These are Bot workflow features, with team-specific capabilities labeled separately. They do not announce a new Grok model or universal access on every consumer surface. The practical decision is which accounts and actions a team chooses to authorize.

METR updates the remediation status of its OpenAI monitoring report

METR amended its 22 October report on 29 October. It now attributes to OpenAI that most identified vulnerabilities were patched, with one fix still in progress that does not affect the misuse-safeguards stack. METR says it has not evaluated those remediation claims. Report and dated update log.

This is a material clarification of historical internal monitoring research, not a newly confirmed customer outage. We added the clarification to our 25 October coverage while retaining its original publication date.
